Plant information: Bromeliad 'Neoregelia' x 'Pink Dots'

Neoregelia is a genus from the Bromeliad family, plants from this genus are popular due to their striking foliage. Neoregelia refers to Edward Von Regel, he was the director of the Imperial Botanic Garden of St. Petersburg back in 1860. Neoregelia plants are native to the tropics of Columbia, Peru and Brazil. Neoregelia plants commonly form an urn in the middle which serves to collect litter and water. Neoregelia Pink Dots is a compact growing hybrid with leaves that are coloured dark green with pink to purple dots. However, some leaves are almost entirely bright pink with bright green and white dots, it almost looks like abstract art. The leaves have a tough structure, they feel kind of leathery. Araflora is happy to be able to sell this showpiece that will definitely perk up your room.

Plant care: Bromeliad 'Neoregelia' x 'Pink Dots'

Neoregelia plants can survive temperatures as lows as 4 degrees Celsius, but they prefer the temperature to be above 13 degrees Celsius. Neoregelia Pink Dots will also do fine with high temperatures, but high temperatures will have an effect on the colour of its foliage. Araflora provides Neoregelia Pink Dots with a well-draining soil. Neoregelia Pink Dots prefers rainwater instead of tap water, it is important to water the plant in its urn in the centre of the plant. A humidity level of 40% to 60% will be sufficient for Neoregelia Pink Dots. To keep the humidity level at a sufficient level, Araflora advises to mist the plant every now and then and to place it on a pebble tray filled with a bit of water. Neoregelia Pink Dot can receive some regular water soluble houseplant fertilizer every month or every two months. It is important to dilute the fertilizer to half of the recommended dosage, overfertilization can affect its colour.
