Plant information: Bromeliad 'Guzmania lindenii'

The Guzmania lindenii is a plant of the family of the bromeliaceae and is native to northen Peru. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte but also in a container this exotic plant will thrive. It can be successfully kept in the home or in the office. Its plant-growth is typical of the bromelia species with its tight bunch of long, thick leaves; these leaves are dark-green with irregular white stripes across the width of its leaves. Although the Guzmania lindenii can eventually reach a height of about 90 centimetres, in confinement this Araflora plant will not grow that high.

The Guzmania lindenii is an easy-care tropical plant. It prefers a light spot or one in half shadow, but it cannot stand direct sunlight. The soil should be really moist, but allow surplus water to drain from a hole into the ground. This species does not make any demands on humidity or temperature as long as it stays within the usual norm of home or office. The soil for this bromelia species can best partly consist of peat.
