This Billbergia is a cultivar from the Bromelia family. The plant has red brownish leaves with a subtle grey marking. When in bloom, the Billbergia develops small flowers. Normally the Billbergia would be kept as an indoorplant, but during the summer months you can definitely keep it in your garden or on your balcony.
The Billbergia is a low maintenance plant. It thrives in indirect sunlight. So, spots near a window or on your balcony would be perfect for this plant. When watering the plant, makes sure you pour some water in the rosette of the plant. Do this around once a week. When in bloom it wouldn’t hurt to sprinkle some extra water on the plant using a plantspray.
