Begonia fuchsioides has bell-shaped flowers that grow in small groups at the ends of pendulous flower stems. Unlike many other related species, the leaves are small, but numerous. They are almond shaped and grow on red stems. Begonia fuchsioides is also often sold in the Netherlands under the name Begonia fuchsioides var. miniata
Begonia fuchsioides doesn't require much attention. Provide a bright place, but avoid direct sunlight. A day temperature of 20⁰C and a night temperature of 15⁰C is sufficient. You can also grow the plant outside as long as the temperature stays above 15⁰C. Watch out for rain in that case. In the living room keep the soil moist by means of a saucer with lukewarm water under the pot, excess water must be able to drain well. The humidity should be around 70% during the day and 90% at night. Fertilize the Begonia fuchsioides 'Red' twice a month. A mix of peat and perlite makes a good soil. You can find these and other growing supplies under the 'plant accessories' section. Pruning is no problem.
