If you wish to seeAlocasia infernalis 'Black magic' in nature, you must travel to for example Borneo or Malaysia in South-East Asia. The species' name 'Infernalis' 'Hellish' probably refers to the reddish shine of the almost black leaf. This species is also known as the 'Skeleton plant' due to the striking veins on its dark leaf. The species does excellent in both a tropical terrarium and any living room.
Alocasia infernalis is suited for terrarium or as an exotic house plant. Ideal temperatures are between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. It can be colder, but the growth will be more compact.
