Plant care: Agave lophantha

The Agave lophantha needs a spot in the light or half shadow. Direct sunlight does not do this plant any good, since it can be damaged by too much light and too high temperatures. The soil must always be moist, but should be easy to drain. During the winter months less water is needed and the soil may be kept somewhat drier. The temperature should always be above 8°Celsius [F46.4] . Occasionally spraying some water leads to a higher humidity thus stimulating the plant’s growth. The soil should be permeable. Araflora produces good results with a mix of peat , moss and coarse sand.
