In summer the Achimenes erecta 'M' will thrive on a terrace or balcony. All through the year it is the perfect house-plant. The Achimenes erecta is native to South America. Its leaves are dark-green and serrated. When the Achimenes erecta is in bloom, it produces trumpet-shaped, orange flowers. Caring for the Achimenes erecta 'M' is simple. The plant prefers to be in a light spot. The Achimenes erecta needs a normal amount of water, so that the soil is always slightly moist and that soil can just be ordinary potting soil. Since the species is not winter-hardy, it should be kept indoors when it is below freezing point outside. As soon as the temperature rises above 5° Celsius [ 41° F] the Achimenes erecta will enjoy a place on a terrace or balcony. There it will bloom attractively with many colourful flowers.
