Real plants will increase the humidity, offer a natural substrate and also make the terrarium look lively and more attractive. We have plants for very moist terraria, but also for dry or dessert terraria, and for any preferred climate. Our terrarium plants are chosen for their ability to grow well in a terrarium or paludarium, so you and your animals can enjoy them for a long time.

Our terrarium plants are characterized by their ability to thrive in a terrarium and their positive contribution to your animals' environment. Terrariums can be set up in a wide variety of ways. Some frog enthusiasts focus primarily on breeding poison dart frogs and limit themselves to a few easy plants, while others create lifelike jungles with many different plant species.

There is a wide range of hanging, climbing, flowering, and epiphytic plants suitable for the terrarium. Bromeliads and orchids are often eye-catchers. For each terrarium plant, Araflora provides a brief cultivation overview with advice on light, water, soil, and humidity. In addition, additional information is provided for each terrarium plant, covering aspects such as fast or slow growth, plant characteristics such as size, and their natural habitat, as well as some cultivation tips.

It is important to know that terrarium plants can often be cultivated in various ways. As a guideline, we provide our growing conditions for these plants in a terrarium.

The basic rule is that plants need light, water, and nutrients. Not all light sources are suitable for a plant. Araflora successfully grows most plants under both fluorescent and PL lighting. For best growing results, the distance between the lamp and the plant is 5-40 centimeters, depending on the plant species. The plants receive either constant watering through the fern root backsplash or less watering manually in areas where there is no irrigation. The temperature of the terrariums is between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, and none of the plants receive plant food. Finally, humidity and air circulation are very important.
