Product info
Alocasia longiloba is a terrestrial plant species that sprouts from a tuberous root in the soil. For every leaf this plant has a pink to reddish petiole. Leaves can grow up to half a meter, are sharply V-shaped and are characterized by their almost white veins. Due to this feature, this plant is also called the skeleton plant. The basic coloration of the leaves is deep green. The not spectacular eyeing inflorescence appears infrequently and looks similar to other aroids within this family. In some cases, this plant could lose all its leaves and could resprout after a rest period. Propagation is most often done by cuttings but is also possible with seed.
Plant care
Alocasia longiloba growth requirements are averagely difficult. It grows best with a temperature between 12 and 30 degrees centigrade with a high humidity. This species prefers indirect light and/or morning direct sunshine. Shade this plant against mid-day and direct sunlight in summer. The soil should be moist retentive and should not dry up completely. Watering this plant often is key but do not let the soil become swampy. Give this plant standard plant fertilizer once a month when actively growing.
