Product info
Begonia polka dot pink is native to the tropics of Brazil. Begonia polka dot pink is sometimes called ‘Angel Wing’ begonia. This begonia is an upright cane-type begonia. Their wing-like leaves are dramatic in shape and in colour, the top of the leaves are dark green and decorated with pink dots. The bottom of the leaves are coloured in a contrasting dark red. What makes the plant even more striking are the flowers. When in bloom, pink bell-like flowers hang below the leaves in small clusters, it is truly a statement plant! However, Araflora advises to keep Begonia polka dot pink out of reach from pets or little children, since it is poisonous when ingested.
Plant care
Begonia polka dot pink thrives with bright indirect light. A window that is facing the north is preferred, if your window is facing the south you should keep your plant a few meters away from it. Plants that are flowering love a bit of more indirect light than non-flowering light. Araflora supplies Begonia polka dot pink with a well-draining soil. This soil should always be kept moist, so keep track of it and water regularly. However, never drench the soil while this could cause root rot. Araflora also advises to spray Begonia polka dot pink once a week. Begonia polka dot pink has an optimum temperature of 18°C to 22°C, if the temperature doesn’t drop below 15°C it will keep doing fine. Begonia polka dot pink likes a more humid environment, but it will also do fine with an average humidity.
