Product info
Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' is a cultivar with beautiful aesthetics. Syngonium plants are also known as goosefoot plants or arrowhead plants. It produces compact leaves that are a mix of green and dark pink around the veins of the leaves. The intensity of the dark pink colour is depending on the amount of light Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' is receiving. Despite the fact it produces rather compact leaves, the whole plant can still grow quickly under the right conditions. As a real goosefoot plant, Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' is a real climber. For example you could let it grow on to a moss pole or onto a netting on your wall. Araflora advises to put Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' at a safe spot out of reach from pets and children, since it is poisonous when ingested by pets or humans.
Plant care
Araflora provides Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' with a well-draining soil that is slightly acidic. Watering of the plant can be done regularly, when the top few centimetres are dry to touch. Stop watering when water is dripping out of the drainage holes of the pot. Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' can handle some drought, so too dry is better than too wet and a drenched soil might also cause root rot. During the growing season, spring to summer, you can give the plant some water soluble fertilizer diluted to half its strength every month. Araflora advises to mist the plant regularly 2-3 times a week, Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' likes a humidity level above 60% but will also do fine with a humidity level around 40%-50%. Brown spots at the end of the leaves can be an indication of dry air. Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' thrives with temperatures from 15°C to 29°C, avoid letting the temperature drop below 10°C. Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' prefers indirect but bright light conditions, too much direct bright light can scorch and discolour the leaves. If the stems tend to get leggy it means the light conditions are low. If needed, Araflora advises to repot Syngonium x 'Maria Dark' during the growing season.
