Product info
This epiphyte grows in trees in South America, using its leaves as a kind of funnel to collect nutrients. Larger and larger leaves grow from within and the older, smaller leaves will eventually die off to make room for the new leaves.
Plant care
Provide a very airy and relatively poor soil, based on, for example, orchid bark. Let the plant dry out after watering to prevent root rot. A high humidity is much appreciated. Indirect sunlight to half shade is good. When new leaves no longer turn purple, place in a lighter spot because the creation of pigment is a reaction to light.
