Product info
The corms of Colocasia esculenta are edible provided they have been cooked for a very long time. Some of the leaves of this tropical native are so enormous that local jungle inhabitants use them as umbrellas during heavy rain.
Plant care
Colocasia esculenta likes to be grown in extremely wet potting compound or to be standing in water. It will happily do this in winter. The parts of the plant above ground will then die off. The leaves need at least 15 degrees Celsius in order to survive. Colocasia esculenta likes clay-rich soil.
