Product infoThe very compact Stapelia divaricata can form more than ten stems over time. The flowers at the base of the plant are fleshy and cream to pink. They are star-shaped and have a prominent bundle of stamens in the center. Flowering usually takes place at the end of summer. Stapelia divaricata grows to about 12cm.
Plant careStapelia divaricata is easy to care for. It is an ideal plant for a cactus greenhouse or a warm sunny spot where few other plants would survive. On very sunny days it is good to give the plant some shade. An optimal temperature for this species is around 27°C. Plant the succulent in a clay pot, because these provide better drainage than plastic pots. Cactus soil is a very suitable substrate for the plant. You should keep it slightly moist during the growing period. Do not let the soil stay wet all the time. That will prove fatal to Stapelia divaricata. In winter, you can reduce watering to once a month. Fertilize with a low-nitrogen fertilizer when you want to accelerate growth.
