Product infoThis creeping plant is found in Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa and the Comoros. Peperomia bangroana is a very tender looking plant. The plant does not grow larger than 40 cm and resembles a succulent because the leaves are somewhat rubbery and thickened. These leaves grow on a red stem with the same properties. As with other Peperomia species, the flowers sit on a kind of cone. They are green-red on the Peperomia bangroana.
Plant carePeperomia bangroana prefers partial shade as too much sunlight can cause the plant to dry out. Or keep the plant in a terrarium under artificial light. Room temperature with high humidity is optimal for this species. Drafts can damage the leaves. Peperomia bangroana is fairly susceptible to root rot, so make sure that the soil can dry by half before watering again. Use a mix of light plant soil and perlite as a substrate. During the period that Peperomia bangroana is growing, you can feed it with plant fertilizer at half strength. It is possible to prune this plant.
