Product infoA hybridization of Dendrobium nobile can be recognized by the thickened stem at the base of the plant. These round 'reservoirs' serve as storage for nutrition and water. The flowers of Dendrobium nobile grow in clusters of two or three flowers on the older, leafless thicker stalk parts.
Plant careThis Dendrobium nobile hybride grows in trees. Therefore it needs a soil containing tree bark, ensuring that the excess water can flow away easily. Araflora offers a special orchid mix, based on pine tree bark, see 'pine bark course' (orchid bark). The growth season of the Dendrobium nobile hybrid starts in spring with the appearance of small stalks and the thickening of the base. During the growing season, water the plant twice a week with liquid orchid nutrition. During this period the plant needs a warm place to stand with plenty of light. At the end of the growing season, a small top leaf appears on top of the stalk. In the resting period a cooler residence is more suitable for the orchid. Do not water the plant till the first buds appear in January. From that moment onwards the Dendrobium nobile requires water and warmth again. Build up the amount of water that the plant receives until the start of the growing season. Always give the soil the time to dry up between watering.
