Product info
Alocasia x portodora ‘Black beauty’ is a hybrid that has been produced for its dark colour. It is roughly 50 centimetres tall with leaves of 20 centimetres that are both wavy and shiny. Their weight is supported by strong leaf stalks. With luck, Alocasia x portodora ‘Black beauty’ will produce a white inflorescence in the shape of a spathe.
Plant care
Alocasia x portodora ‘Black beauty’ must occupy a relatively bright position but must not have direct sunlight on its leaves. The best temperature for this Alocasia is room temperature. In the summer months, it can be moved outside, provided the temperature does not fall below. Slightly higher humidity will enable the plant to form healthy leaves but make sure it is not too near heating. A good idea is to place the pot on a dish containing pebbles. You can pot Alocasia x portodora ‘Black beauty’ in normal potting mix. Allow the top 2 centimetres of compost to dry out before giving the plant more water.
