Product info
Dionaea muscipula 'Spiky' is a cultivar with a highly distinctive appearance. Unlike other Venus flytraps, it does not have traps that spring shut but its spectacular leaves more than make up for the fact. This particular cultivar - a variety produced in cultivation by selective breeding - obtains the nutrients it requires from gases in the atmosphere and from water.
Plant care
Dionaea muscipula 'Spiky' thrives in wet conditions, preferably in a position where it can enjoy full sun. It should be watered with rainwater or boiled water but not with tap water, which is often hard with a high mineral content. Dionaea muscipula 'Spiky' can be cultivated as a house plant in a sunny indoor spot. As an exotic garden plant, it does best close to a water feature such as a pond or in a wet and sunny location.
