Begonia unknown variagated

Begonia ‘Variegated’ owes its bright colours to a genetic mutation. Certain parts of the plant do not produce any pigment which accounts for the patterned effect. The leaves are on the large side and heart-shaped which is characteristic of begonias. This plant will add an attractive dimension to any terrarium.

Begonia ‘Variegated’ can be grown successfully by anyone, not just experienced begonia enthusiasts. It needs plenty of light but should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The temperature must never drop below 10⁰C, which could prove fatal, or higher than 30⁰C . During the daytime, 70% humidity will suffice rising to 90% at night. Keep the potting mixture moist by placing the pot in a dish with a smallish quantity of lukewarm water. If the plant is in a terrarium, ensure good ventilation as a way of helping prevent infection and disease. Begonia ‘Variegated’ must be fertilised with plant food 2 or 3 times a month.
