Product infoThe Vriesea correia-araujoi belongs to the bromelia family. In the tropical forests of Brasil it grows as an epiphyte. Under cultivation the Vriesea correia-araujoi thrives in home, office or tropical terrarium. Its leaves are very narrow and grow from the centre of the plant. When the Vriesea correia-araujoi comes into flower it produces a long stalk from the middle of the coronal of leaves. From this stalk grow bright-red, flower-like leaves with a yellow tip. The actual flower can be found within these leaves. This exotic plant remains relatively small, maximum circa 30 centimetres in height.
Plant careThe bromelia species, Vriesea correia-araujoi, is an easy-care plant. This exotic plant prefers to be in a light spot or in half shadow. However, direct sunlight can cause damage. Keep the soil moist but avoid stagnant water near the roots. This species is not hardy, but for the rest it can stand a wide range of temperatures. A mix of peat and potting soil may be selected as substrate. There is no need for much fertilizer: Araflora produces good results by giving the plant nutrition for orchids once every three months.
