Product info
Because of its two parent species, Nepenthes x tiveyi needs a slightly lower temperature than other Nepenthes and therefore makes an ideal house plant. This species grows more slowly than average so it will not become too large too quickly.
Plant care
Nepenthes x tiveyi is an ideal house plant. It requires a slightly lower temperature than other members of the Nepthenes genus, because of its parent species. It needs plenty of sunlight but must not be exposed to full sun or it will become dehydrated. The best temperature for this species is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, certainly no lower than 10 degrees Celsius or higher than 30 degrees. It needs plenty of rainwater or distilled water and a well-drained pot. It also needs spraying with water regularly so the pitchers retain water. It needs to be cultivated in an environment with a relatively high level of humidity. It thrives in neutral to slightly acidic peat but does not require feeding. It can be pruned if it becomes too large.
