Product info
In the wild, Stelis eublepharis grows in the cool, moist forests of Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and northwest Venezuela. There this orchid can be found on tree trunks and branches between the ferns, mosses and bromelias. Stelis is a species of orchids with approximately 500 differents types. Its inflorescence is specific to this species: small flowers on a stalk. Stelis eublepharis’ flowers are white and adorned with ‘hairs’.
Plant care
If possible, place Stelis eublepharis on a backwall. Fern root is best, because it retains a lot of moisture. Water regularly (with soft water) is recommended. Extra fertilization is not immediately necessary. This orchid can also be cared for on an epiphyte branch. Be careful to ensure that the roots never dry out; use Sphagnum for this. Provide Stelis eublepharis with sufficient light. Considering the spread of this plant, it is important to keep this plant cool. Temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius are adequate.
