Begonia ulmifolia

The Begonia ulmifolia is part of the Begonia family that counts around 920 species. Most of the Begonia species are originally from Central America, but the Ulmifolia is from Brazil. It’s a fast growing plant with slim, light green leaves. Next to that it also develops beautiful, white flowers when in bloom.

The soil of this plant has to be kept moist, but make sure you don’t overwater it as that can cause the root to rot. It would be best to soil to slight dry between watering is. Be careful when watering on the leaves as they can be easily damaged. The Begonia ulmifolia does well in bright indoor areas, but make sure not to place it in direct sunlight. When the plant is too dry, the leaves tend to fall out. But don’t worry, just give the plant some more water and the leaves will soon grow back!
