Plant care

Huperzia phlegmaria ‘Starter’ does not require a great deal of attention as it is by no means difficult to cultivate. Plants need to be watered every three days. Pebbles in the bottom of the pot will ensure good drainage and help to prevent rot or infection, as will good air circulation. Plants require a relatively high level of humidity and a temperature between 15⁰ C and 30⁰ C. The best substrate consists of peat or sphagnum moss. A moderate amount of fertiliser will promote the plant’s growth. Huperzia phlegmaria ‘Starter’ needs plenty of light but must not be exposed to direct sunlight or fierce bright. Pruning is not advisable.
