Product info
Amorphophallus longituberosus takes its name from its elongated tuber from which it produces a slender pale inflorescence, consisting of a spathe and a spadix made up of male and female flowers.
Plant care
The tuber of Amorphophallus longituberosus needs to be potted in spring in a large pot containing nutritious potting mix. Adding ¼ builder’s sand and seramis will ensure good drainage and water run-off. Place the pot in a warm and light position; give the plant plenty but not too much water and lots of fertiliser during the growing period. This plant likes a warm and bright location, but not fierce direct sunlight next to a window. A conservatory or greenhouse is ideal. Stop watering in autumn and store the tuber in a warm dark, dry place for the winter. Repot in spring in fresh soil.
