Plant care

As with other Nepenthes species, Nepthenes madagascariensis requires a great deal of sunlight, but not direct sunlight as there is a risk of dehydration. The best temperature for this species is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, certainly no lower than 10 degrees or higher than 30 degrees. It should be given rainwater or distilled water regularly but should never be left standing in water. It also needs to be sprayed with water at regular intervals to ensure the pitchers are not empty. This species requires a high level of humidity in order to survive. The best growing medium is neutral to slightly acid peat. No additional feeding in the form of plant food is required. It can be pruned if it becomes too large.
