Product infoTheSarracenia flava var. Cuprea belongs to a special group of carnivorous plants from the United States and Canada. In nature this Sarracenia can grow up to one meter tall. The inside of the trap is smooth, disabling trapped insects from climbing back out. At the bottom of the trap there is a layer of sour fluid which contains digestion enzymes, in which the insect drowns and is digested. Above the trap there is a lid which serves as an umbrella, keeping the trap from flooding with water. This lid is unable to move and thus a good landing spot for the plant's prey.
Plant careAraflora recommends Sarracenia flava especially for enthusiasts who are unfamiliar with this extraordinary pitcher plant. Sarracenia flava is among the easiest species and as another big advantage it is also hardy.
