This plant needs a lot of direct sunlight but no chemical fertilizer. Be sure never to let it dry out. The Venus Fly Trap does like a moist environment and prefers being in bright sunlight. Dionaea plants do not need any fertilizer as they will get all their nutrients from the insects they catch. Watering a Venus Fly Trap can best be done with water low in calcium e.g. boiled water or rain-water. Indoors the Dionaea needs to be placed in a sunny spot. Outdoors these exotic plants do well in a wet, sunny environment for example close to a pond. The snares of the Dionaea can snap shut about nine times moreover they are capable of digesting an insect about three times. Of course the plant will also grow its new snares. This Araflora plant is not edible and should be used for decoration purposes only.
