Polystachya fallax is relatively easy to take care of. It is best kept in a greenhouse or other light spot, as it needs a lot of sunlight. This orchid also needs a high humidity of around 80%. Polystachya fallax flourishes in temperatures between 18⁰C and 22⁰C. For the best growth results, use rainwater or distilled water whenever the substrate has dried slightly. In practise this will be two to three times a week. Proper airflow combined with a proper humidity will help prevent infections and disease. The best substrate is a piece of bark or cork, but orchid-mix is also suitable. You can find this and other components in our ‘Plant Accessories’ section. Make sure water is able to drain from it. Fertilize with caution. Old flowers can be cut from the plant.
