Product infoDendrochilum cobbianum grows at altitudes above 1.200 meters on the Philippines. There it is found on rocks and mossy trees. The leaves can reach 20 centimetre and are bunched together to form a compact whole. From this foliage flower stems protrude of 50 centimetre. Each stem produces dozens of white flowers. The lip of the flower is quite small, but contrasts the rest of the flower with its yellow colour. The large number of flowers hanging from the plant makes Dendrochilum cobbianum a sight to behold.
Plant carePut Dendrochilum cobbianum in a light spot, out of direct sunlight. The humidity of its surroundings should be quite high, around 80%. The ideal temperature for Dendrochilum cobbianum is around 28⁰C. Don't let the temperature drop below 15⁰C or rise above 35⁰C. Water the plant using rainwater or distilled water whenever the substrate has dried slightly. In practice this will be three to five times a week. Combined with a proper humidity, this helps prevent infections and disease. It is advisable to keep the orchid in a hanging pot to give the strands of flowers some space. Orchid-mix will be a suitable substrate, as long as water is able to drain from it. Orchid-mix and other components can be found in our ‘Plant Accessories’ section. This orchid needs little or no fertilization. Old flowers can be cut from the orchid.
