Product infoLaelia harpophylla has bright orange flowers which can grow in groups of 7 on a bulb of 30 centimetre. In Brazil this orchid can be found in the tropical regions as epiphyte on other plants and trees. Laelia harpophylla grows at various altitudes, between 500 and 900 meters. The petals are just as slender as the lip. The lip has a white lobed end. Araflora offers young specimens which will grow into large adult plants.
Plant carePlace Laelia harpophylla in a semi-light spot, out of direct sunlight. The humidity should be quite high, around 80%. The ideal temperature for Laelia harpophylla is around 22⁰C. Don't let the temperature drop below 15⁰C or rise above 30⁰C. For the best results, water the plant using rainwater or distilled water whenever the substrate dries slightly. In practice this will be watering three to five times a week. In the winter, water the plant slightly less and keep it in a lighter spot. Together with a proper humidity, this will help prevent infections and disease. Orchid-mix will be a suitable substrate. You can also attach the plant to a piece of bark. You can find this and other components in our ‘Plant Accessories’ section. Make sure moisture is able to drain from it. This orchid needs little or no fertilizer. Old flowers can be cut from the plant.
