Product infoThis pack contains one plant with pink leaves and dark purple edging, a lilac type with dark purple veins, one with bright green leaves with chestnut brown edging and lastly one with silver grey leaves. The flowers grow in groups on long stalks and are either pink or white. All these begonias are of a manageable size which makes them ideal for a small terrarium.
Plant careBegonias need a great deal of light but must not be exposed to fierce light such as direct sunlight. The best temperature for these plants is between 20 and 22⁰C, at any event no lower than 10⁰C or higher than 30⁰C. Humidity needs to be 70% during the daytime and slightly higher at night. Water the plants when the top surface of the growing medium is still slightly moist. The growing mixture must not be allowed to dry out. Sphagnum moss placed in the terrarium will help retain moisture. Add fertiliser to the water twice a month in order to promote better growth. A mixture of peat and perlite helps retain moisture but always make sure that drainage is effective. Information about potting mixtures and other essentials can be found in “Plant accessories”. Good air circulation in a terrarium will prevent help prevent infection and disease. Like other begonias, the plants in the starter pack can be pruned if they become too big.
