Product infoThe Hawaii Palm is a notably small plant. Officially this plant does not come under the family of the palms. For example its leaves look completely different to those of real palms. Indoors this palm never grows any taller than about one metre high; in its natural habitat it reaches a maximum height of approximately four and a half metres. In flower this plant produces long, yellow flowers. The future of the Brighamia Palm in its natural habitat is under threat but it is successfully being cultivated in nurseries. By giving this exotic plant a home you help to preserve the species. By purchasing this plant part of the profit made is donated towards a program designed to protect the wild palms on Hawaii.
Plant careThe Hawaii Palm is an easy-to-care-for pot plant, which needs only little water. It does really well indoors but can also flourish on a balcony or terrace in summer. Preferably the Hawaii Palm should be cultivated in a light area but it can also be grown in half shadow. The potting soil must be kept moist but not soaking wet. A small amount of fertilizer each month is enough. In winter this plant has a natural period of rest when it drops some of its leaves. In summer this plant can without any problem be placed outdoors. When the temperature drops to below 10˚ Celsius [50˚F] the Hawaii Palm has to be moved indoors. Take care: this plant attracts lice so it is wise to check the heart of the plant for vermin every week. ARAFLORA is proud of the fact that this plant is now part of her wide assortment, so we can draw your attention to it as well as contributing to the preservation of these species in nature.
