Product infoRhaphidophora foraminifera sprouts in soil and develops along trees and rocky outcrops as a vine. This species anchors itself with aerial roots growing from its rhizome that could reach several meters in nature. The plain green leaves reach 40 cm when mature. Along the main nerve of mature leaves, two rows of perforations are formed. While this plant is mainly grown for its leaves, it could produce an occasional inflorescence. This inflorescence is similar to other aroids but then narrower.
Plant careRhaphidophora foraminifera is relatively easy in culture when care requirements are met. This species demands a warm environment of at least 16 degrees Celsius, without sudden temperature drops. Humidity is preferably above 60%. Be sure that this plant is shaded from direct sunlight; moderate or bright indirect light is optimal. For substrate, use an excellent draining, airy soil for example anthurium or orchid soil mixes. The use of a moss pole could support the growth of this plant. Water this plant frequently but allow the soil to dry slightly before watering again. Avoid soggy conditions at all times. Fertilize this plant once or twice per month.
