Product info
The modest proportions and requirements of this begonia make it ideal for a terrarium, large or small. The leaves are heart-shaped but slightly more elongated with broad teeth along the edges. At the centre of the white male flowers there are clusters of stamens or pistils, almost as big as the rest of the flower.
Plant care
Looking after this terrarium begonia is fairly straightforward. Good air circulation will help prevent disease and infection It needs plenty of light but must not be exposed to very strong light. The temperature must never fall below 10⁰C or rise above 30⁰C. Humidity needs to be around 70% during the daytime and 90% at night. The growing medium must be kept moist at all times. Surrounding the plant with moss will help retain moisture. Fertilising once or twice a month will stimulate the plant’s growth. A peat-based mixture forms an ideal growing compound. Go to “Plant accessories” for more information about this and other products available from Araflora. Prune when the plant becomes leggy or too big.
