Product info
Dionaea muscipula 'Red green' has the familiar traps resembling bears’ claws with which it catches insects and spiders. The edges of the lobes are fringed by hair-like protrusions or cilia, which mesh together and prevent large prey from escaping. Once the trap shuts, its is impossible for the prey to escape. The traps reopen once the prey has been digested.
Plant care
Dionaea muscipula 'Red green' likes wet conditions and direct sunlight. It should be watered constantly with rainwater, osmosis water or demineralised water. Dionaea muscipula 'Red green' does not need feeding as it obtains its nutrients from the prey it catches. When the plant is dormant during its winter rest, it requires less water.
