Product infoThe houseplant Araeococcus micranthusis has wonderful long dark-green leaves which grow straight up from a central point and only curl outwards at the end. In the middle of the plant a stalk emerges on which the flowers grow. This is a large and highly branched bunch of white flowers. The flowers develop into green berries which then fade into purple berries. In the living room or office this houseplant is ideal. This type of bromeliad occurs naturally in the rainforests of Middle and South America, predominantly in Venezuela.
Plant careAraeococcus micranthus prefers a spot with lots of light, but should be kept out of direct sunlight. Keep the plant's roots moist, but avoid stagnant water. It is best to generously water the plant twice a week and then let the soil go mostly dry. Mist the plant with water to create a high humidity; this bromeliad can also absorb water using its leaves. Pour a bit of water in the middle of the plant, it will remain there in the tube created by the leaves. When the plant isn't growing in the winter, it needs less water than in the growing season. The ambient temperature should be kept between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. It is best to keep Araeococcus micranthusin in a soil with few nutrients. This Araflora plant is for decorative purposes and is unsuitable for consumption. The plantcare symbols below will give you an additional information about the product care.
